Year in Review | 2025-2026
The 2025–2026 Year in Review begins with yearbook editor Mary Ranville working late at her desk, sorting through photos, making edits, and trying to catch up on the yearbook. When Mrs. Wallace drops off a massive stack of papers marked “To Edit,” Mary becomes overwhelmed, especially with Josiah and Michael still behind on their event photo edits. After working for a long time, she falls asleep at her desk and enters a strange dream.
Mary wakes up beneath a large pink tree in front of the Ad Building, confused by the world around her. A student skips backward toward her, daps her up, and welcomes her to the “GLAAFIA.” Moments later, another student appears, and a perfect dap between the two sends a flash of light across campus, transporting Mary into SA Handshake. From there, the video transitions into the first major event of the school year.
Throughout the film, Mary’s dream continues to connect the events together in funny and unexpected ways. One moment, she is on a boat in the middle of the gymnasium with Evia and Dylan on the “Low Seas of GLAA,” and the next, a water balloon battle transitions into SA Sunday Funday’s human battleship game. These dream sequences continue throughout the Year in Review, leading into event recaps, funny memories, class spirit, student moments, and highlights from across the school year, including references to events like SA Ski Trip and the broadcast.
Near the end, the video cuts back to Mary asleep at her desk. She is suddenly awakened by a knock at her office door, where Robbie Beckermeyer appears and says he is part of the GLAAFIA. When Mary asks what the GLAAFIA is, the yearbook team explains that it represents the student body as a whole. The video closes by showing that the Year in Review could not have been made without the students, events, memories, and school community that shaped the year.
Michael Gillham served as the head videographer and lead video editor, editing the majority of the Year in Review. Assistant videographers included Dylan Moody and Jordan Boldt. Dylan Moody also assisted with editing by reviewing footage, cutting clips, and assembling sections of the video. Gavin Irwin helped edit several events, and Jordan Boldt edited the AeroKhanas recap, since Michael was involved with music during that event and was not available to film it.
