Faith Through History | Boston, Plymouth, and the Pilgrims’ Journey
For this religion project, Josiah and I traveled to Boston and Plymouth to visit several important historic sites connected to early American history and the Pilgrims’ journey for religious freedom. We filmed at places like Plymouth Plantation, Patuxent Village, and the Mayflower replica, showing what life may have been like for the Pilgrims as they left England and crossed the ocean to the New World.
Throughout the video, we explored the sacrifices the Pilgrims made and the faith they needed to leave behind everything familiar. One of the most meaningful parts of the project was learning more about John Alden, one of my ancestors, and seeing the connection between my own family history and the larger story of religious freedom in America.
The video ends by connecting the Pilgrims’ faith to our lives today. Just as they trusted God while sailing into an unknown future, we are also called to trust Him and follow where He leads. We included Psalm 119:105 — “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path” — as a reminder that God gives direction, even when the path ahead is uncertain.
